Job description
My client is seeking a Principal EIA Consultant to lead and manage Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) on large-scale marine and coastal infrastructure projects, with a focus on Offshore Wind, Renewables, and Energy Transition across the UK and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate EIAs for major offshore wind and renewable energy projects.
Manage marine consents and ensure regulatory compliance throughout project delivery.
Conduct technical reviews and ensure high-quality reporting.
Build and maintain relationships with statutory consultees, stakeholders, and the public.
Guide clients through the complexities of marine consenting and environmental assessments.
Mentor and support junior staff, helping them develop their skills and expertise.
Adhere to all health and safety standards, reporting incidents and concerns promptly.
Qualifications
You’ll have a detailed knowledge of the EIA process on major energy infrastructure projects, ideally coupled with direct experience in the offshore renewables sector. Applicants with experience working in other offshore industries (e.g., Oil & Gas) or onshore energy infrastructure projects are also welcome. We’d like you to have:
A degree in a relevant environmental subject and potentially with an MSc in a relevant topic e.g. Environmental Impact Assessment or similar
Experience of working in a consultancy environment, including experience of managing EIA projects
Experience in working as part of a team, including liaising with other technical specialists, e.g. marine processes, underwater noise
Experience in working with environmental stakeholders, including regulators and nature conservation bodies
