Job description
The SCADA and Control Systems Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting renewable energy projects, focusing on the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of SCADA systems for utility-scale solar facilities. The technician assists in the setup and maintenance of systems used for data acquisition, machinery control, and network communication. Responsibilities include configuring control systems, developing HMI screens, and ensuring reliable system performance during commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in designing and implementing SCADA systems for solar projects.
Troubleshoot control systems and resolve technical issues.
Support network communications, hardware installation, and system configuration.
Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and equipment vendors.
Participate in safety programs and adhere to safety standards.
Maintain project documentation and technical records.
Qualifications:
Understanding of SCADA systems, control systems, and HMI.
Familiarity with industrial networks, cybersecurity, and network communications.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and renewable energy technology.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
This position involves working with various teams and reporting to the SCADA and Control Systems Manager. It requires the ability to solve problems, learn new technologies, and support solar energy projects ranging from 50-300+ MW.
