Job description

​My client, a leading player in the solar industry are growing out their capital markets team.

The group specialize in project finance and tax equity financing and are looking for a first-year Associate to support with transaction management and deal structuring for projects throughout the US.

The firm's project finance deal pipeline has grown exponentially and as a result have been hiring through 2024 and this year. They've added three Associates in Q4 and now looking for a fourth member to join the growing capital markets group.

Our client are looking for a first year Associate - who will be Investment Banking trained, but doesn't need to prior energy deal exposure, providing they have supported transactions in another industry and have superb financial modeling skills.

Role responsibilities

  • Create and analyze financial models for portfolios of residential solar systems

  • Support investor due diligence and provide timely responses to due diligence inquiries

  • Assist with the structuring and execution of project finance and corporate transactions

  • Analyze and report project profitability and return on investment

  • Collaborate with colleagues in various functional areas of the company to meet operational and reporting requirements of transactions

  • Provide timely ad hoc analysis to support company financial planning and decision-making

Required experience:

  • 1-5 years of experience at a major investment bank or private equity firm (experience in energy, power or renewable energy but not required) or a renewable energy company

  • Strong work ethic and ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced work environment

  • Detail-oriented and organized with superior analytical abilities

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to think creatively to solve complex business and financial problems

  • In-depth understanding of finance/valuation concepts and financial statements

  • Extensive financial modeling experience

  • Superior knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Experience with Python, Tableau, Snowflake is a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in finance, economics or business
