Job description

Responsible for representing the Compliance function within the assigned business region, ensuring adherence to corporate governance standards, ethical practices, and community expectations. Collaborate with the Corporate Compliance team, regional managers, and business leaders to implement compliance programs and foster a culture of compliance in alignment with the annual Compliance Plan and regional strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage with regional leadership to address compliance concerns and provide solutions in line with policies and procedures.

  • Implement and manage the compliance monitoring program in the assigned region, working closely with local business leaders and Compliance Champions.

  • Develop, maintain, and update compliance registers, ensuring they are accurately reflected in the GRC Platform.

  • Deliver training to action owners and Compliance Champions on compliance monitoring via the GRC Platform.

  • Monitor Change in Law (CIL) notifications and update compliance registers as necessary.

  • Identify high-risk regulations and contractual obligations for inclusion in compliance registers.

  • Support business owners in completing compliance self-assessments and ensure quality through compliance testing.

  • Review and monitor corrective actions, ensuring timely resolution.

  • Assist in delivering compliance training and preparing presentations for the Board or Board Committees.

  • Act as the first point of contact for compliance-related queries and support the implementation of compliance policies at the regional level.

  • Collaborate with other enabling functions on compliance matters and support internal compliance reviews.

  • Provide guidance on regulatory requirements and standards to regional business units.

  • Implement and monitor Compliance KPIs at the regional level.

  • Identify, report, and escalate instances of non-compliance to the Compliance Head.

  • Support investigations into non-compliance by providing relevant information.

  • Conduct compliance education and training to promote awareness.

  • Consolidate and report regional compliance status to the Corporate Compliance department.

  • Stay updated on regulatory and industry trends to manage compliance risks and align with corporate strategies.

  • Guide Compliance Champions and business leaders on the implementation of the Compliance Management Framework.

  • Ensure adherence to approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures.

  • Contribute to change initiatives, programs, and projects in line with organizational standards.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, or a related field from a reputable university.

  • Compliance certifications (e.g., ICA) are preferred.

  • 5-7 years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles.

  • Industry-specific experience is an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of regional legal frameworks, corporate, contract, and labor laws.

  • Expertise in legal, regulatory, and corporate governance matters.

  • Proficiency in Mandarin and English is preferred.
