Job description

​We're currently working with an exciting new business focused on the development of utility-scale solar, wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems.

Working with landowners and local communities, they're developing a new energy landscape for the next generation powered by the expertise of their people, the strength of their partnerships and a genuine desire to drive positive change.

The next piece of their puzzle sees them looking to recruit a Corporate Development Manager with a proven expertise in managing commercial activities within the renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects related to the development of solar, battery, and wind projects. This includes but is not limited to mergers and acquisitions (M&A), project finance, offtake agreements, and supporting the development team in their project pipeline.

Your role:

  • Lead and manage all commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle, from inception through to financial close

  • Identify and pursue strategic M&A opportunities aligned with the company's growth objectives.

  • Structure and negotiate project finance agreements, including debt and equity financing.

  • Negotiate and manage offtake agreements and other key commercial contracts.

  • Analyse market trends and regulatory developments to inform project strategy and decision-making.

  • Collaborate closely with the development team to support the identification, assessment, and execution of new project opportunities.

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in commercial management within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar, battery storage, and/or wind projects.

  • Proven track record of successfully executing acquisitions and divestments and structuring complex project finance deals.

  • Strong understanding of offtake agreements, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and other commercial contracts relevant to renewable energy projects.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends, financial risks, and opportunities.
