Job description
TGRC are proud to partner exclusively with a growing clean energy firm, backed by a high profile PE investor, in their search for a Director, Corporate Development.
Position Summary:
The Director of Corporate Development plays a strategic role in identifying, evaluating, and executing growth opportunities for the company. This includes mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and other business development initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director collaborates across departments to align corporate development strategies with the company's long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Day to day responsibilities:
Ensuring that internal M&A processes and standards are adhered to, and make recommendations to the Board of Directors for updates to the processes.
Execute the M&A strategy defined by the executive team by supporting the identifying, and sourcing of opportunities, and leading due diligence, and evaluation of opportunities that align with our growth objectives.
Manage team of Analysts and Associates in the financial analysis of opportunities, including the development of proforma financial modes, valuation analysis, and other quantitative analysis required.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the board to ensure synergy between M&A initiatives and overall company goals.
Lead preparation of investment memos by synthesizing due diligence analysis to present potential investments to various committees for approval.
Play a strategic role in leading, planning, and providing support for due diligence activities across all functional areas of any transaction inclusive of commercial, operations, engineering, regulatory, financial, and technology.
Proactively build relationships with investment bankers, venture capitalists, founders, and private equity firms.
Prepare and present high impact reports and analyses on potential M&A opportunities to executive team and board.
Prepare, evaluate and present robust financial and product modeling and analyses on opportunities as needed.
Monitor and analyze the competitive space, consider impacts on strategic positioning.
Contribute to the development and refinement of our corporate development processes.
Lead the transaction execution process from end-to-end, including cross-functional business due diligence, third-party due diligence, deal structuring, financing and negotiation.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff cross-functional teams in executing transactions.

Qualifications:
5 years Demonstrated experience in Corporate Development. Investment banking, private equity, venture capital, project finance. Additional experience in strategy consulting, venture capital or private equity is a strong advantage.
Experience in power generation and utilities, across different power markets. Experience in hydro or thermal power generation preferred.
Experience with raising capital (equity, project finance, corporate debt) is a strong advantage
Professional designation (CPA, CFA, ASA, CBV, other) or MBA preferred
Understanding of global markets and cultures and how they affect potential investment opportunities
Proven ability to execute strategically, with relentless attention to detail and remarkable problem-solving skills
Critical thinker with a knack for presenting complex analysis with clarity and guiding data backed decision making
