Job description
We have partnered with a leading advisory looking for a Senior Project Manager to oversee and deliver independent engineering (IE) and technical advisory (TA) services for the financing, sale, or acquisition of solar PV projects across various countries.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage high profile Independent Engineering and Technical Advisory projects for project financing, sales and acquisitions of solar projects and portfolios, including technology reviews, civil and electrical design reviews, reviews of commercial and technical contracts, project schedule, project financial model, CAPEX and OPEX costs, environmental and permitting review, site visits and construction monitoring.
Prepare detailed proposals outlining the scope of work, team, budget, and timelines.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet client expectations.
Mentor junior staff and support team development.
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, including lenders and developers, attending meetings and providing exceptional customer service.
Prepare and lead communication plans, status reports, and regular project meetings with stakeholders.
Identify project risks and challenges, proposing effective solutions and mitigation strategies.
Review project contracts and financial models.
Conduct site visits during construction and operation phases, monitoring progress and preparing reports.
Represent the company at industry conferences and business development meetings.
Support the growth and strategy of the solar due diligence team.
Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of experience in renewable energy project management, including solar and/or energy storage, with a background in project development, construction, operations, or M&A.
Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and a strong understanding of key concepts like degradation, augmentation, and efficiency is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical, civil, electrical engineering, construction management) required; a Master's in Renewable Energy is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of solar technology, including PV modules, inverters, trackers, and understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and energy modeling for solar projects.
Proven experience managing large-scale solar PV projects, including design, contract review, and understanding of key project agreements (EPC, O&M, PPAs, etc.).
Experience in defining and reviewing project acceptance and commissioning requirements.
Proficiency in Spanish and English is required; knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus.
