Job description

As a (Senior) Consultant in Energy Markets, you’ll work on impactful projects in wind, solar, energy storage, and system integration within the Netherlands and internationally. Whether large-scale initiatives or specialized ventures, your expertise will help shape a more sustainable energy future.

You will oversee major consultancy projects, focusing on energy markets. These projects span a variety of regions, with a primary focus on the Netherlands, as well as occasional opportunities in the EU, USA, or Australia. This role is designed for those who thrive on solving complex challenges in the energy sector and want to be at the heart of the energy transition.

You’ll collaborate closely with a team of specialists across multiple disciplines—developers, financial advisors, and legal experts—to provide strategic advice to clients on power contracts, market developments, business cases, and optimization opportunities. The goal is always to secure the best sustainable deals for our clients, helping them navigate the evolving energy landscape.

Our team has extensive experience negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for large-scale wind and solar projects in the Netherlands, and we’ve recently expanded our focus to include energy storage, hydrogen, and energy procurement for large consumers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage consultancy projects for clients in energy markets

  • Advise clients on PPAs, market trends, energy contracts, and optimization strategies

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including legal and financial advisors, to secure the best outcomes for clients

  • Develop new business opportunities and expand your network in the energy sector

  • Stay up-to-date with global energy market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements

  • Potentially engage in academic collaborations, including guest lectures or workshops, in partnership with universities

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary up to €8,468 gross per month (based on a 40-hour week), with flexibility depending on experience

  • Excellent benefits, including a pension plan, profit-sharing scheme, and a performance-based bonus

  • Flexible working hours (24-40 hours/week) with hybrid work options

  • 25 holiday days per year

  • A company laptop, mobile phone, and support for creating an efficient home office setup

  • Travel benefits with an NS business card for first-class travel

  • An office located close to Almere Centrum train station

  • A supportive and dynamic work environment, with regular team-building events and social activities

What We’re Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong blend of technical, commercial, and analytical skills. You should be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, have excellent problem-solving abilities, and be able to work effectively in a collaborative, high-performance team.

In addition, we require:

  • A university degree in engineering, business administration, economics, finance, or a related field

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the energy sector, with strong knowledge of energy markets and energy projects

  • Demonstrable expertise in various energy markets and energy project dynamics

  • A well-established network within the energy sector and related industries

  • Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written
