About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate Energy Trading Analyst to join our Energy Markets team in the UK & Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the energy transition by developing and implementing strategies that maximize the value of energy assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Trading Strategies:
Create and implement innovative trading strategies to enhance the value of customer assets and our overall portfolio.
Data Analysis & Modeling:
Build and analyze models and processes to optimize flexibility and distributed energy assets.
Market Analysis:
Conduct in-depth analysis of power markets, including wholesale, ancillary, and capacity.
Best Practices Implementation:
Identify and implement cutting-edge tools and processes to improve trading operations.
Collaborative Recommendations:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop customer value propositions and global platforms.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
2+ years in energy trading or closely related fields within the UK market.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in trading software and strong programming skills (e.g., Python).
Market Knowledge:
Solid understanding of UK power markets (wholesale, ancillary, and capacity).
Analytical Expertise:
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with energy market analysis tools.
Education:
Degree or equivalent in a numerical discipline.
Operational Insight:
Ability to translate analytical findings into actionable strategies.
Nice to Have:
Asset Optimization:
Experience in optimizing energy storage and distributed energy assets.
Automation Skills:
Familiarity with automation processes and APIs.
Model Development:
Background in developing energy market models and forecasting tools.
