Job description
The Green Recruitment Company is excited to partner with a pioneering energy tech company that is at the forefront of the green transition. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and innovative software development, they are developing and optimizing flexible energy assets such as large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) to ensure grid stability, maximise the use of renewable energy, and enhance grid efficiency.
As such, they are seeking aGrid Engineer to join their expanding Engineering team, which plays a critical role in the technical design and operation of energy storage assets throughout their lifecycle. You will translate technical requirements for all involved parties, ensuring seamless integration between grid operators and BESS projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the grid connection process for large-scale BESS projects, which includes defining technical specifications for substations and control systems, and managing implementation and testing phases throughout construction, commissioning, and operational stages
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for assets and substations/switchgear products to verify and improve performance
Supervise the setup and upkeep of relay protection, SCADA systems, and Power Plant Control (PPC).
Facilitate data-sharing solutions between facilities and grid operators (DSO/TSO)
Your Profile:
Hold a degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering, or possess equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of 3 years experience in industry.
Previous experience in overseeing grid connections for grid operators, industrial projects, renewable energy sources, or energy storage systems.
Experience in grid planning at the DSO level or performing grid connection pre-studies and analyses.
