Job description
A global leader in Power System Equipment and Energy Solutions, specializing in transformers, switchgear, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The UK branch is focused on advancing energy infrastructure projects in the UK and Ireland.
Role Summary:
The Health & Safety Manager will ensure compliance with H&S regulations, promote a culture of safety, and support operational efficiency. This role is critical to achieving business growth while safeguarding workforce well-being, particularly within high-stakes energy industry projects such as HV transformers, BESS, and offshore wind farms.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the management and reporting of UK Branch activities in compliance with H&S, Environmental and Quality Policy (incl. management of internal audits)
Working with department heads/managers to implement suitable processes, and governance to meet company policy in H&S, Environmental and Quality
Lead H&S incident investigations in UK, determine necessary actions and manage the implementation of corrective measures
Advise management team on changes/revisions to UK or relevant international standards
Lead improvement programmes for H&S, Environmental and Quality targets
Provide guidance and support to department employees regarding H&S, Environmental and Quality matters
Work with department leads to establish and maintain appropriate training programme and competency records
Ensure company compliance with H&S and Environmental legislation
The candidate will need to be motivated and have a strong technical background in Energy Industry (or similar) construction projects, with a proven track record in project and or site HSEQ management. A candidate who has experience in the HSEQ management of HV grid transformer or switchgear projects, grid scale BESS, and/or offshore windfarms will be highly advantageous.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience: 5-10 years in H&S/SHEQ management within Energy, Renewables, or Power sectors.
Education: Degree or equivalent in H&S/SHEQ or engineering discipline.
Certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent.
Proven ability in stakeholder management, collaboration, and working under pressure.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
