Job description
This role is responsible for leading the development of utility-scale data center projects for a U.S.-based renewable energy developer. The focus includes site evaluation, infrastructure planning, permitting, and energy integration. The position supports efforts to align data center growth with clean energy generation and grid infrastructure. This is a hybrid role based in Southern California.
Duties
Lead full lifecycle management of data center development projects, from site selection through execution.
Evaluate site feasibility based on infrastructure, environmental, utility access, and regulatory conditions.
Oversee design and planning of high-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems aligned with generation assets.
Manage permitting processes and ensure regulatory compliance at all levels.
Negotiate and manage power supply agreements and coordinate with utilities for interconnection and infrastructure requirements.
Technical knowledge in interconnection, substation planning, or energy markets.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in infrastructure or energy project development.
Experience with permitting and utility coordination.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
