Job description

​We are seeking a qualified Safety Manager to oversee safety operations on solar construction sites. The ideal candidate will bring their construction safety experience to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment. Previous solar experience is not required, but candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in construction safety management.

The Safety Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation, and enforcement of site safety programs to ensure the well-being of all personnel and compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage site-specific safety programs in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.

  • Conduct safety training and toolbox talks for site personnel.

  • Investigate accidents and incidents, and report findings with recommendations to prevent future occurrences.

  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure safety measures are integrated into project planning and execution.

  • Maintain and review safety documentation, including safety manuals, training records, and incident reports.

  • Ensure the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) on-site.

  • Act as a safety liaison between project teams and external regulatory agencies when needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience

    in construction safety management.

  • One of the following certifications/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety

  • OSHA 500 certification

  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance standards.

  • Ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards in a construction environment.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage and train site personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in renewable energy or solar construction (preferred but not required).

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.

Contract Details:
  • Duration: 6 months

  • Compensation: $45-50 an hour + monthly per diem and monthly rotation

  • Travel: May be required to visit multiple solar sites within a region.
