Job description

Day to Day
You will be the technical expert and lead for distributed energy resource projects, working on utility-scale projects connecting at both distribution and transmission, with sizes up to 1000 MW-ac / 2000 MWh-dc. These projects will include solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Commercial and Industrial (C&I) projects will range from behind-the-meter to front-of-the-meter applications, varying from 100 kW-ac to 10 MW-ac.
You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address civil, survey, structural, mechanical, electrical, and medium-voltage designs and studies.
You’ll provide technical expertise in power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunications systems for design projects, contributing to the creation of electrical design/construction drawings and specifications for institutional, commercial, and industrial facilities.
As the lead electrical engineer, you will deliver technical and design services while conducting evaluations of electrical equipment and control systems, preparing design computations, and ensuring timely completion of tasks within budget.
Experience required
B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
PE license in GA, PA, or NC, or the ability to acquire it quickly through reciprocity.
8+ years of relevant experience.
Strong technical skills and a keen interest in technology.
Excellent communication skills and a self-starter attitude.
Desired Experience
Familiarity with NEC, NESC, and IEEE codes and standards.
Experience with MV and substation interconnection/protection.
An interdisciplinary systems approach to engineering.
Comfort with financial metrics and data analytics for deriving optimal solutions.
Proficiency in electrical power engineering and CAD or Revit drawing sets.
Knowledge of MEP work for buildings and a willingness to expand your expertise.
Creative thinking and a passion for presenting innovative ideas.
