Job description

​As a Junior Engineer, you will be an integral part of my client's engineering team, focusing on the operation, maintenance, and optimization of anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities. You will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, working with cutting-edge technology that converts organic waste into renewable energy and valuable by-products.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Operations team during the scoping of new projects, under the guidance of the Project Engineering Leader and Senior Process Engineer.

  • Work alongside Process Engineers to develop engineering deliverables and provide support for capital projects.

  • Assist Project Engineers during the commissioning phase of major projects.

  • Lead a process improvement project from the initial scope and design through to completion and handover to operations, with support from the engineering team.

  • Foster a positive safety culture and ensure all site activities comply with relevant Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards, in collaboration with the engineering team.

  • Delegate tasks effectively based on the complexity of the work and individual capabilities.

  • Demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills to ensure objectives are met efficiently.

  • Hold a valid (preferably clean) driving license.

  • Possess excellent IT skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and the ability to adapt to various ERP systems, including in-house platforms. Experience with Microsoft Project or similar tools is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar A Level/ Baccalaureate /Scottish Highers - including Math’s; Chemistry; Biology

  • Desirable: Masters in Engineering
