Job description

​An exciting position has arisen for a Sales Administrator to join a leading cutting-edge renewables business. Initially, this role will be for a 3-month FTC however has scope to develop further into a more permanent hire.

The Role

We are looking for a reliable and fast learning Sales Administrator who can support the team in generating and closing green solution sales in the market. The role will be central to managing and reporting the near term cashflow of the business and influence how the sales business develops and grows to a core revenue stream. The role requires an individual who can quickly distil and process the technical, commercial, and financial needs of our customers to support their journey to decarbonisation through the sale of hydrogen.

The key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Researching and identifying new business opportunities, including growth areas, trends, potential clients, partnerships, or new ways of reaching existing markets

  • Developing proposals to support and secure near-term revenue streams. This includes aligning with departmental resources to develop an offering in accordance with the customer’s requirements

  • Project management, utilising systems and technology and automation to maximise commercial performance and sales efficiency e.g. CRM, reporting, margin management and pricing tools

  • On-demand, supporting the handling of sales enquiries, acting as a customer service contact for clients who have questions about their accounts or our services

  • Maintaining customer records, managing the account of various customers, including updating the order book, invoicing and record keeping through our customer management software

  • Keeping abreast of trends, news reports, key policy initiatives or competitor developments to ensure Protium stays on the front foot and shapes the green hydrogen market

Key Requirements and Skills

The successful candidate will have effective communication skills; verbal, written and presentation. We are looking for smart, ambitious, and proactive people who can think strategically, see the bigger picture, and come up with a tactile action plan for achieving them. The ideal candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced and challenging environment, someone who is not afraid to ask questions and actively put their ideas forward. Specifically, we’re looking for:

  • Previous sales experience – ideally but not essentially in the energy industry

  • Previous experience in CRM, reporting, and administrative functions

  • Ability to work under their own initiative, a self-starter

  • Good relationship management and interpersonal skills for establishing trust and building relationships with clients

  • Tender process experience – nice to have but not essential
