Job description

​Title: Smart Grid Engineer (Analytics & Modelling)

Location: Basque Country, Spain (Hybrid)

The Green Recruitment Company are delighted to be working with a revolutionary cleantech start-up who are playing a vital role in the UK & Europe’s energy transition! Through their suite of Smart Grid software solutions, they are enabling utilities and grid operators to monitor, optimise, & control power grids.

Following VC-backing and successfully onboarding an impressive list of international clients, they are currently searching for a Smart Grid Engineer, who will play an important role in the business’ continued success by developing and maintaining solutions that will improve grid stability and efficiency.

This individual will be joining the growing Spanish team and will bring technical simulation & modelling expertise from their background in smart grid/energy systems/electrical engineering (ideally using MATLAB, Python, or similar).

Candidates must be fluent in Spanish & English.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop & maintain smart grid solutions for automation, real-time control, & renewable energy integration to the grid.

  • Conduct power systems analysis & modelling by creating optimisation & control simulations.

  • Analysing grid performance for stability & efficiency, troubleshooting where required.

  • Managing projects from conception to launch in time & on budget.

Job Requirements:

  • Electrical engineering, Computer Science, or Power Systems background (Degree or similar).

  • >2 years’ experience surrounding smart grid technologies.

  • Strong understanding of smart grid dynamics, renewables & power systems technologies.

  • Skilled in simulation and modelling tools (Python, MATLAB/Simulink etc.,).

  • Familiarity with relevant processes & protocols (e.g. IEEE & IEC).

  • Ability to work individually and within a team environment.
