Job Title: Structuring Manager/Director, Energy Storage Transactions

Location: Chicago, IL

Company Overview:

Our client, a prominent clean energy IPP dedicated to the utility scale battery storage sector, is looking for a Structuring Manager/Director (flexible for right candidate) who can to focus on pricing and modeling energy assets for complex power transactions relating to energy storage projects.

Position Overview:

The Structuring Manager/Director will play a vital role in the financial structuring and pricing of energy storage projects. This individual will utilize advanced modeling techniques to evaluate asset performance and develop financial strategies that optimize project returns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Price and model energy storage assets and complex power transactions, including power purchase agreements (PPAs) and ancillary services.

  • Develop sophisticated financial models to assess the viability and profitability of energy storage projects.

  • Analyze market trends, regulatory frameworks, and technological advancements to inform pricing strategies and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, finance, and legal, to ensure alignment on project objectives.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, outlining financial analyses and recommendations.

  • Manage relationships with external partners, including utilities, developers, and financial institutions, to facilitate successful transactions.

  • Lead a team of analysts and associates, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative environment.

  • Stay abreast of industry developments and contribute to thought leadership in energy storage and renewable markets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in energy markets, specifically in structuring and modeling energy storage transactions.

  • Strong understanding of renewable energy markets and related regulatory environments.

  • Proven expertise in financial modeling and analysis, with experience in energy pricing strategies.

  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
